The Ligurian sea
Relaxation also means spending a day on the beautiful beaches of western Liguria, perhaps in enchanting villages such as Noli, Borgio Verezzi or Finalborgo, all fishing villages with colourful houses, narrow streets and harbours that look out into the distance.

Turin
Turin, the first capital of the Kingdom of Italy, can be discovered by strolling through the city centre, soaking up the atmosphere and admiring the elegant architecture.

Alba and the Langhe
The city of Alba is world famous for its wine and truffles, two products that have made it the undisputed capital of the Langa food and wine industry. The highlight of the year is autumn: in the countryside the grape harvest is in full swing, while in the city the annual International Alba White Truffle Fair takes place.

Cuneo
The style of Cuneo is that of a typical Savoy city, which at first sight may seem austere and distant, but in reality it is full of surprises, from different points of view. The Cuneo to see and discover is revealed in Piazza Galimberti, Via Roma and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Bosco.
What to see
Cuneo's historic centre, with its elegant squares and famous porticoes, is an enchanting place for a relaxing stroll. Visitors can explore the charming alleys, discover the characteristic shops and taste the local cuisine in the many traditional restaurants.
We are also close to the alpine valleys of the province of Cuneo: the nearest, with its regional park, is the Alta Valle Pesio e Tanaro. Twenty kilometres from the agriturismo is the Maritime Alps Park, which borders on the Mercantour National Park in France: a unique area full of rivers, alpine lakes and waterfalls, with plateaus and peaks reaching 3,000 metres, rich in paths for all lovers of trekking and winter sports.
For food and wine lovers, Alba and the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are about 40 minutes away from Cascina La Commenda: during their stay at our farmhouse, our guests have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an authentic culinary experience, tasting fine wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco and inimitable gastronomic delights.
What to eat
The typical local cuisine is a real journey through the flavours and aromas of Piedmont's hills and valleys. Characterised by a strong rural tradition, this cuisine is based on simple but high quality ingredients, often linked to the surrounding territory.

Bollito misto
Bollito misto (mixed boiled beef) is the culinary triumph of the prized Piedmont cattle and has always been the dish of the winter feast. Seven cuts of meat cooked with vegetables and herbs are served on hot plates with sauces and vegetables. The obligatory ones are "bagnetto verde" and "bagnetto rosso", agliata, bee sauce and "mostarda d'uva".

Bagna cauda
Bagna cauda is one of the first dishes that come to mind when we think of traditional Piedmontese cuisine. It is a typical and, above all, convivial autumn and winter dish: a sauce made of oil, anchovies, garlic, butter and milk, in which seasonal vegetables such as peppers, lettuce, cardoons, potatoes and Jerusalem artichokes are dipped.

Cuneesi with rum flavour
Cuneo, city of chocolate. The most famous Piedmontese chocolate, after giandujotto, is the Cuneese with rum flavour. Two meringue wafers filled with chocolate cream and rum, covered in a thin layer of dark chocolate.
